My Thoughts - August 2026
August 1st, 2026. 7:14 AM
I can't believe it's August aready! We are now 2/3 of the way into 2026, my birthday month, Dad's wedding month, and Nate and I's 6th month anniversary. It's also what I like to consider the sunset month, as all my favorite sunsets seem to happen in August. August also seems to be a month of great change for me, usually a good shakeup. I hope my August doesn't get too much of a changeup, if I do I'd prefer a good kind of change.
So far this summer has been filled with lots of fun activites, like Boston, Branson, and Atlanta, and I will be wrapping it up with Chicago after the wedding.
Let's hope this month is a good one!

Work today was fun and drizzly. I also worked on doing some resets with Kayln, and helped Garrot move shoes from A1 to A2. It didn't feel like a Saturday. Overall working was fun, and I had a smooth day.
I used the BMV Express kiosk today to renew my registration for my car. It was super easy, and I would do it again in a pinch. I also got some garlic bread while at Meijer, and I am cooking it now.
August 1st, 2026. 11:06 PM
Just got home from Hadestown with Nate. I really liked how it was presented, and it was a beautiful story.
August 2nd, 2026. 3:12 PM
Work today is weird, I won't deny it. I opened Shores in the rain, and by noon, I was given shutdown orders from management. Shores closed at 1pm. I got asked to go back to my old stomping grounds of Area 1, and I clock back in at 5pm. Since I close, I will be rather tired, but it will be fun. Sadly, an Area 1 local Kaylee, will not be working tonight :(.
August 3rd, 2026. 10:26 PM
I got to tour Castaway Bay today, and it was super cool. I have always wanted to see the hotel, and this was the chance I needed. I was late though, which was because I overslept after my LOOONG day yesterday. My favorite part was seeing the waterpark. Before I went back onpoint to work, I checked on Flo's Surf Shop, one of my locations when I cover resorts, and then went to the park.
After work today, I was walking out of the park when I ran into Kaylee going on her break. It was nice talking to her, and we had a lovely chat. During our chat in the break room, we ran into Jaden, Wes, and Leo! We all had a good time talking about various topics. Jaden had her Digicam in her bag, and we got a nice picture together.
After I got home, I called Aidan and we discussed a lot of things. He's coming home this weekend for the wedding. I am excited since I haven't seen him since my redemption days in the spring.
August 4th, 2026. 10:17 AM
Today is Kaylee's last day :(
I am going to miss her as she gets ready to move to Idaho (not Colorado), but we plan to hang out at least one more time before she goes away.
Nate is going to be in for a treat before I go to work, since I plan to bring them a "venti iced mocha". I was told this is Nate's favorite Starbucks order, and I am not very good in the coffee world.
Uncle Tim and Emily are visiting today, and I plan to ride a ride or two with them after work, assuming I get to leave ontime. I haven't seen them since April, during the anniversary trip, so it will be exciting.
August 6th, 2026. 9:19 PM
The days are blurring together with all the work, minus Big Bash.
Big Bash was really fun, I went with Jaden, Jaedon, and Kayln to pregame some rides. We rode Blue Streak, Windseeker, Valravn, and Raptor x2 before Big Bash. Anna, Amaya, Max, Caleb, Ergi, and many others joined us up at check in. I rode Maverick with a group of 13, and Steel Vengeance with Jaden the first time, and Austin, Kayln, and Amaya, the second. I wish I could have stayed later, since it went until 2:30am. Jaden took many pictures during Big Bash, but my favorite was of the two of us in front of Steel Vengeance. In short, I loved hanging out with so many fun people.
Today we closed Shores an hour early, since a tstrom rolled in at 6pm. I got to leave early, which was nice after the last two days. Kayln said I could leave early tomorrow, which will be nice. I should have taken this day off.
August 7th, 2026. 2:28 PM
Today I walked into the Revenue office only to be greeted with my manager, Brenden, told me "you're going to CP Shop!" Shores didn't need me, so I was instead sent to Area One to assist with what they had going on. This also meant I got to work at Redemption, with Jaden and Maddie. We took a photo with the Digicam, since it was likely the last time we would all work together.
The shift worked was fun. I went between Redemption, CP Shop, a little bit of Gatekeeper and Plaza, and took a locker call. It went by very quickly.
I will be leaving back for Cleveland soon, to go to the wedding and Chicago for Great America. This means I will probably be on hiatus until I get back, which I expect to be around Wednesday. I am very excited for the next few days ahead.
August 8th, 2026. 1:49 AM
So I lied a little about the hiatus....by about a day.
After I got to Cleveland, I did the rehersal for the wedding with Dad, Steph, Nathan, and others at the church. After, we tried to go to Angie's Pizza, but they were very busy. So we all went home and had pizza from Augie's. Once everyone left, Nathan, Dad, and I watched a movie and Played Ticket to Ride.
I can't sleep, so I worked on finishing the 2021 Blog Posts, which you can now view and read. I also took the time to pretty much knock out 2024 tonight, I just need to do April. I decided at some point I will make individual pages for the videos made after July 2024, like the Woodland Mall, Scooters, and Grandpa's Cheese Barn pages.
I also want to go back to every page outside of the blogs to add a "last edit" text, so I can keep a rough track of it. This will help if I decide to, at some point, sort pages by year. A lot of work today, and I am very happy about it.
August 12th, 2026. 12:27 PM
The wedding and following trip to Six Flags Great America were very fun.
The wedding went smoothly and with minimal issues. It started right on time and ended right on time. I only made one mistake during my reading, but I tried my best given the short notice on what I was reading. Stephanie and Nate were very pretty, and Nathan, Dad, and I looked smart in our suits. Overall, the wedding was very fun, and I plan to make a full detailed page soon.
Chicago was mostly smooth. Mom and I rode everything at least once, and some rides a few times. I really liked the park, and I can't wait to visit CGA in Santa Clara in September to visit both the Great Americas during their 50th anniversary season. Expect a detailed page soon.
August 13th, 2026. 12:00 AM
HAPPY SIX MONTHS NATE!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, AND I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE YOU IN MY LIVE EVERYDAY. I CAN'T WAIT TO SPEND FALL WITH YOU!!!!
August 13th, 2026. 11:38 PM
First day back at shores was a breeze, even with minimum staffing. We close at 6pm now, so I get to leave at 7pm. It was a great time, but I did miss Nate at work.
Yesterday, I got to hang out with Maddie Kitagawa and Rhys, and we went to the mall and Scooter's Dawg House. Lunch at Scooters was good, and we got to catch up. I missed those two a lot. Afterwards, I had dinner with my parents to celebrate my birthday, and then went back to Sandusky, bringing Nate some steak for dinner.
We watched a movie called Vampire Acadamey. It was interesting, and I enjoyed it. I gave Nate an early gift for our anniversary. I think Nate liked it.
August 15th, 2026. 10:15 PM
Yesterday was a lovely evening, since Dad, Steph, Nate, and I went to Hibatchi for dinner last night. It was very good, and we all had a good time. Nate and I hung out for awhile after dinner, and we had a good time. Work was long but easy.
I learned my associate Shaun has a website of his own today. He is much more technically inclined than I could ever dream of being, so I recommend taking a look HERE if you want to take a look.
My birthday is coming up, and I don't know how to feel about it. I wish I had planned things out more, maybe I could do the one thing I really want to do. It's weird.
Lastly, it has been 5 years since Top Thrill Dragster closed for good. The last time I rode it was with my dad on July 7th, 2021, and it was so fun. While I do miss Top Thrill Dragster, Top Thrill 2 is my number one out of 336 coasters.
August 16th, 2026. 11:23 PM
Today was National Roller Coaster Day, and I spent it....working in Area One, and watching End of Oak Street. The movie was really good, its about dinos in the 1980s. I liked it a lot.
In less then an hour I turn 22! crazy isn't it? I've been running this page long enough to make it to my birthday, and I am happy about that. I plan to go to work, get dinner with Nate, and watch a movie with Nate and possibly Audrey after. It will be a lot of fun.
August 17th, 2026. 12:52 AM
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEEEE!!!!! 22! Isn't that awesome? Gonna party hard when I wake up (and after work)
I have also started to add a "last edited" text to the bottom of most pages. I will get it fully rolled out hopefully this week. Any page edited before August 17th, 2026, will only be marked by MM/YYYY, while everything else will be fully dated after.
August 17th, 2026. 11:46 PM
My birthday was a lot of fun, minus work. I worked on redoing some page formatting today, and adding a "last edited" text on the bottom of most pages. This means that I can keep track of when pages were made.
Today at work, I had a pretty smooth day. I got the Pride and Passion pin, and added it to my name tag. I am very proud I got the award, especially recieving it finally on my birthday. I also saw the Goodyear Blimp, but I don't have a good picture.
Nate and I went to Amaron Italian Restaurant after work, and it was very good. We went home after to watch a movie, which was fun. Nate's Josh and Luke came over and we had a lovely chat as well. Luke is in town because we plan to go to Waldameer in Erie tomorrow.
August 21st, 2026. 12:03 AM
Waldameer was very fun, Nate and Luke went with me. Expect to see a trip report very soon.
The last few days at work, however, have been very stressful.
Wednesday was not that bad. I had to cut staffing, and say bye to Kalyn for now, but we had a smooth day at Cedar Point Shores. Thursday was a different beast.
When I got to the park, I learned I would be covering resorts, and shores, by myself until 3pm. This was a little scary, but I wasn't too worried since the weather looked gloomy. This should have been a bad sign for me. After overseeing the opening of Breakers Boutique, I went to help open Shores, since I had to make several adjustments to their staffing. As we were making progress, an Aquatics manager came by warning us that a WATERSPOUT was just to the north of the park. Not even 5 minutes later, it began to POUR rain, catching us a little off guard. Ultimately, we had to seek shelter out of the rain.
At 10:15am they made the call to close Shores for the day, and we then had to close what we had prepped to open. After driving my team members to their new locations for the day, I continued running Shores as intended. After Will came in, I went to Area One to help Maddison, but we were chilling there. We got everything taken care of, and it was a smooth afternoon.
After work today, Nate, Luke, Owen, and Caroline went to Toft's for some ice cream. It was a good time, and we played lots of Uno after. I won the last game, because Owen didn't know I had a yellow card and...played a wild calling for yellow.
Seeing Owen and Luke was a nice refresher, and since I will probably see Daisy tomorrow for lunch, I will have a nice week of seeing people I care about. Hopefully, more good things will follow soon...
August 21st, 2026. 4:41 PM
I went to Bowling Green today to have lunch with Daisy. I got to see her new apartment, and I thought it was filled with charm. As I drove to her place, I was reminded how much I miss BG. The town is really cute and if I wasn't living in Sandusky for the foreseeable future I would strongly consider living there. Daisy and I went to Waffle House for lunch, and it was rather busy. I am not surprised since it is move in weekend for BGSU. It was a good time. After lunch we took a walk around BG, something I had been needing for some time. It was nice to see the town, and for a bit I felt like I was able to slow down.
My mom, brother, and cousins are visiting this evening. Once my laundry is done I will be joining them at the park. Nate will join us for dinner. Fun times ahead.
August 22nd, 2026. 11:03 PM
The last 24 hours have been very interesting.
Yesterday, at Cedar Point with my family, my Mom sat down to eat dinner at Farmhouse, when she ate a piece of steak wrong. This would begin a chain of events where she had to go to the ER. In the process, I brought Evie and Wes to my apartment while Auntie and Uncle Scott came out to get them, and to check on my mom. Mom is ok now, shes been resting since she got home.
This morning, I got to meet John Reily, CEO of Six Flags. Cedar Point held a Team Member breakfast with him, and I asked him a couple of questions I do not believe I can discuss at this time. He was very friendly, and I like him a bit. Afterwards, I went to work at Shores, where we closed early due to storms in the area. Luckily it was already 4pm, so we didn't lose too many hours after closing. After, I had dinner with Nate and we had ice cream watching Top Gun: Maverick.
The last thing I learned today, was Scott, a friend I met because of Cedar Point, lost his young son to cancer. He was young, only 13 years old. Sadly, this was known for a bit, but the pain and sorrow that Scott, and his family, are dealing with is an unspeakable feeling that nobody ever deserves to go through. May Colton rest in peace.
August 24th, 2026. 10:04 AM
I had a dream last night about some people I haven't seen/spoken to in a long time. The first person in my dream was a girl I knew named Avery. We were best friends in elementary school, but after she moved in 2019, I began to see her less and less. The last time I saw her was in April 2022, and we had a small spat. It wasn't very good, and I haven't spoken to her since. It's for the better, unfortunately, but from time to time I think of her and wonder how she is doing especially since she doesn't have any social media.
Sarah made a cameo appearence in my dream. We dated a long time ago, and I still regret how 16 year old me handled everything. I was immature then, but how does one make up for that? you don't.
Last person in my dream was a guy I knew named Kyle. We had stories from school we could tell, but I haven't spoken to him since...2023. I don't know if I like him or not, but it would be nice to catch up with him.
August 24th, 2026. 8:37 PM
I was finally sent over Colton's obiturary. If you want to read it, you can do so HERE It is a very beautiful peice of writing, one I am sad I ever had to read it. His death has hit me hard, because he was so young. He will never get to experience the joys and pleasures of the world because he was so ill for most of his life. I also feel sadness because I will not be able to go to his funeral on thursday. I work 8-7pm, and I can't get the day off since I'll be the only Shores supervisor. I want to support Scott and his Family, but I have no way to do so. I do hope though, through all of this, they can heal, and that Colton is in a place where his dreams and desires can come true.
August 25th, 2026. 2:42 PM
Dolly Parton has sadly passed away at 80 years old. She was a great artist, who wanted whats best for the world.
August 26th, 2026. 7:56 PM
Work today was long, but I had a good moment today. Right at close, I had a guest come up to me as I am locking up Shores, asking if I could help him check to see if his wedding ring was in his Cabana. I walked him over, and sure enough, it was there! It was a very good way to end my day, and a great way to save his.
I am going to Nate's to play Mario Kart now, I am very excited. Great pick me up given this week's workload.
August 26th, 2026. 11:00 PM
To Nate:
Growing up, I was told Cedar Point was the Amazement Park, and every sunset I encountered there gave that impression, but I never truly felt it. Loving you has been the best part of the last 6 months of my life. Every little thing you do brings joy to me, and every adventure we've had has been so much fun. My love for you grows stronger every day, and everytime I see you I feel a sense of calm no one has ever given me.
I can't wait for our future together. I can't wait for our many adventures that are upcoming, and I can't wait to make you the happiest person in the world. As I sit here writing this open letter to you, I think about our future together. I hope we have a family together. You are the first person, and only person, that I can sit there and say, "yes, I want this person."
Growing up, I was told Cedar Point was the Amazement Park, and meeting you there has been the most amazing thing to happen to me yet.
August 27th, 2026. 9:57 PM
Today I covered Shores, Resorts, and was in charge of delivering merch. The merch delivery got cancelled after I showed Andrew some QC issues. Opening Shores and resorts was stressful, but after my lunch it was easy. I'm very tired, so I'm going to get some rest.
August 31st, 2026. 12:52 AM
Last couple days have been very fun at work, with many different things going on. I got to cover resorts, doing many different fun things, and help many people. Driving the work trucks (yes I said trucks) has also been very fun. The games truck is old, but charming to drive. The F&B truck I got to drive Saturday was modern and smooth to drive, and much bigger then anything I've ever driven. Lighthouse Point is very quiet during the day, and Castaway Bay is charming with its theming.
With summer coming to a close, we have been making preperations to close up Shores and the Beach rentals up this weekend. We have 3 days left at Shores, and Beach is done for the year as of yesterday (8/30). While I worked with Janiece with Will today to get the beach rentals closed up, The Kaye E. Barker of the Interlake Steamship Company sailed into Sandusky Bay, right up along the north end of the Cedar Point peninsula. Its the first time I have seen a ship sail into Sandusky rather then out.
Outside of work, Nate and I went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in theaters this weekend. I haven't seen ANY HP movies since prepandemic, nor have I ever seen any in theaters, so seeing them on the big screen was pretty neat. We intended to see the first HP movie friday night, but Nate was feeling unwell so we cancelled that plan.
I will be redoing the poster lineup on my wall tomorrow. I have 2 more posters to hang up, Giant Wheel and Hotel Breakers, for my Cedar Point side. It will look really nice when its all done. I still need to figure out how to work in the Demon poster I got from SFGAm, since it's different from the other 3 park posters.
