Closing Day has come and passed, with many feelings and wonderful experiences.
Closing day 2026 was smooth, and plesently warm. I woke up early to do Early Entry, and managed to ride Siren's Curse, Top Thrill 2 x2, Corkscrew, Cedar Downs, and my last Cedar Point ride of 2026 was Blue Streak. I saw Mom right before I had to go to work. After clocking in for the day, Area 5 had a leadership photo in Frontier Town. From left to right in the picture is Janiece, me, Charlotte, Kayln, Sam, and Will.
After the group photo, I would be assigned to moving all the rentable strollers and wheelchairs to the front of the park. That took 2 hours, but it needed to be done. I would spend the rest of the evening doing inventory work and helping out throughout the park. The park closed at 8pm, and it was certainly an experience. Throughout the day guests came through and told us all to have a good off season, and to see them next year. I know I will.
The work didn't end when we closed though. Once we got midway clearence from Security, we could finish up our work using the truck. We had to move some product to warm locations for the winter. In the end, we made our way over to Sweet Spot for a goodbye pic.
After leaving for home, it finally hit me that it was the end of the year. I'm not able to do teardown/inventory this year because of classes. I won't be back on point until 2027. I worked very hard this year, and I know I did a good job. We all went to Cane's afterward, and after hanging out there I finally went home and slept until 10am. Cedar Point's 2026 season may be over, but 2027 is only 180 days away. See ya there May 1st, 2027!

Its finally midterm election day here in Ohio, and I am so thankful I no longer have to listen to "JOHN HUSTED DID THIS" or "AMY ACTON DID THAT" any more. If you are from Ohio (esp NE Ohio) you would know how annoying the ads were becoming. To excercise my right to vote I drove into Cleveland last night to have dinner with Dad, before going to vote with him before leaving back for Sandusky (I sadly have my 11am class).
Before class started this morning, I discussed with a classmate about how fast the semester has been going. It feels like it was just last week that we started Fall 2026 classes. With how fast everything is going I feel like I am not treating Nate right. We haven't had a date night in a bit, and I know they have been struggling with class, work, and the chest pain from Diablo. I want them to be happy. Hopefully, we can have some quality time together at the IAAPA expo, or the experiences surrounding the Expo.

Its Gone. I think. The T430 Thinkpad has been stuck in a boot loop for over 3 hours now. I put it to sleep after doing homework all morning and it won't wake up.
I am thankful most of my work has been backed up to my 1tb SSD in the former disk drive, I should be able to recover most of the work from the laptop. But there is 100s of Minecraft screenshots I never backed up, and probably never will be able to. I am super bummed about everything though. That T430 was bought in June 2021 and I have used it as my daily driver since. It lasted me from Highschool until now. I loved that machine. It was reparible and it just worked. I wish I could pull those screenshots off the laptop.
Also, happy 200 blog posts. Sucks that I'm currently looking at a new laptop, but thats life I suppose.

Amy Acton has been elected Govenor of Ohio, and a LOT of the country went blue. This was a big surprise to all of us, and I had a couple celebratory drinks. I don't know if I am Democrat or Republican, I just know I wasn't thrilled with current leadership.
In other news, my T430 is alive. After a fresh install of Windows 10, I have successfully recovered my data I needed. Sadly, the soul of the laptop was lost in the process. I am still researching replacement laptops. None really look good to me, especially since I like how modular and repairable my existing machine is, and nothing on the market is similar at a good pricepoint. I'm planning to look at the Mac NEO after class today. I have been considering it for some time, and now may be the time to finally upgrade. I also enjoy Windows 10, but I know Windows 10 is a dying breed and Win 11 is the future.
